The Branch provides a local focus for BCS members. It holds regular meetings in the Leicester area, on a diverse range of computing and IT topics. The Branch offers a programme of events usually including talks and presentations about current issues and research in computing. The Leicester Branch has approximately 800 members and is growing.

The Branch also maintains links with local schools, colleges and university and gets involved in careers fairs as well as presenting student prizes at local universities.

The Branch often collaborates with BCS Specialist Groups and other professional societies to organise larger scale events that attract a wide-ranging audience.
